Every list page works the same

You’ll need: nothing switched on — this lesson is orientation and applies to every FeePrime business.

This is the highest-value lesson in the course. FeePrime has well over a hundred modules, and they nearly all behave identically. Learn one list page properly and you have learned almost all of them.

Search

The search box filters the list you are looking at. It matches on partial words, so typing ndi will find Ndiaye, and you do not need to know how a record was spelled to find it.

Pagination

Long lists are paged, with the pager at the bottom of the list. This catches people out: if you search and see nothing useful, check whether you are still on page four of the previous search.

The three tabs

Above every standard list sit tabs that are the same everywhere.

All | Pending | Archived | Audit Trail
    ^ ^ ^ ^
    | | | |
    | | | every change
    | | | ever made here
    | | records taken
    | | out of use
    | changes waiting
    | for approval
  normal working list

Pending holds changes somebody has made that are waiting for approval. Archived holds records taken out of use but not destroyed. Audit Trail is the history of every change made in this module. The next three lessons take one each.

When the tabs are missing

A few lists are built differently and have no Archived or Audit Trail tab at all. That is deliberate, not a fault. If you cannot see the tabs, that module does not offer them, and no amount of looking will help.

Why the sameness matters

The first time you meet Purchase Orders, or Loans, or School Exams, you already know how to search it, page through it, find what is waiting for approval, dig out something archived and see who changed what. The only genuinely new thing in any module is what the fields mean.

Try it

On staging.feeprime.com, open three modules you have never used. Do not try to understand what they are for. Just confirm that the search box, the pager and the tabs are exactly where you expect. That recognition is the skill this lesson is teaching.

Check your understanding

1You search a list and get no results, even though you are sure the record exists. What is worth checking first?1 pt
2You open a module and there is no Archived tab. What does that mean?1 pt
