One consignment, end to end
You’ll need: Contacts, Business locations, Inventory items — if you cannot see these, the module may be switched off for your business or outside your permissions. An administrator can change either.
This course follows a single consignment through an agricultural business — bought from farmers, brought to a store, held, processed, and sold.
It is a guided path rather than a replacement for the main courses. Each step explains what happens and why, then links to the full lesson underneath it. Take the links that match your job and skip the rest.
The journey
FARMERS you buy in the field, often with no network

v
THE VEHICLE stock and cash are on a truck, not yet at the store
|
v
THE STORE received, weighed, graded, put into batches
|
v
PROCESSING inputs consumed, a new product and a new batch created
|
v
THE CUSTOMER sold, shipped, invoiced, paid
Every stage is a record. That is the whole proposition: at any moment you can say what you hold, where it is, which batch it came from, what it cost, and who handled it.
What makes agriculture different
Three things, and FeePrime is built around all three.
You buy where there is no network. Purchases happen at a roadside or a farm gate, not at a desk. Recording them there rather than re-typing an evening’s notebook is the difference between records you trust and records you argue about.
Your stock has an identity, not just a quantity. Which batch, from whom, harvested when, expiring when. A sack is not interchangeable with another sack when a buyer asks where it came from.
What you sell is not always what you bought. Wet becomes dry, raw becomes processed, bulk becomes bagged. The transformation has to be recorded as a transformation, or your quantities and your costs both drift.
Before you start
Three things need to exist before the first purchase:
Your locations — every store, and every vehicle that carries stock. A truck is a location. → Business locations
Your farmers and buyers — one shared address book, everyone in it. → Contacts: the shared address book
Your items — what you hold, with the right tracking method. The next lesson is about getting that decision right, because it is the one that is painful to change later.
Try it
On staging.feeprime.com, create a store, a truck and one farmer. That is the smallest setup that lets you follow the rest of this course by doing rather than reading.
